Our Mission

To promote education, literacy, and community development by creating platforms for learning, expression, and empowerment—especially among youth and women in underserved communities. We believe that storytelling, critical thinking, and cultural engagement are powerful tools for social change.

Our Vision

A just and educated society where every child can read, every voice is heard, and every individual—regardless of gender or background—has access to the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities they deserve.

Our Journey

From handwritten stories to community-wide change.

Najwa-e-Qalam was founded in 2015 by a group of passionate youth and educators in Hazara Town, Quetta. What began as a small book-sharing initiative quickly evolved into a community-based movement for education and empowerment.

The founders—many of whom were writers, teachers, and volunteers—recognized a gap in access to literature, creative outlets, and educational support for children and women in their neighborhood. They started organizing informal reading circles, small writing competitions, and youth-led workshops in local spaces.

Over the years, with no major funding but deep community commitment, Najwa-e-Qalam has:

  • Established mobile and public reading corners
  • Organized dozens of cultural and educational events
  • Trained hundreds of young writers and volunteers
  • Supported local authors in publishing their first books

We continue to grow, not as a large institution, but as a committed collective of changemakers shaping lives through the power of words and action.
